Candi Prambanan
If Borobudur is the famous Buddhist temple, then Prambanan has to be the famous Hindu temple near Yogyakarta.
The center tower is 154 feet tall, it could be the highest ancient Hindu temple.
Built on 9th century, the temple complex still look incredible magnificent by today’s standard.
We visited Prambanan during high noon 3pm. It was HOT!
Many of the shrines within the complex had been destroyed by earthquakes in the past centuries.
One could imagine from the remains the grandeur of the temple complex during its hay days.
My first impression was: “How on earth people built such a tall stone and slim structure more than thousand years ago?”
By the time we left around 5pm, the sun was setting and we were rushing towards Ratu Boko for the sunset view.
