Impressions of architectures in Chiang Mai

The palaces, temples and houses in Chiang Mai are as impressive as those in Bangkok.

The beautiful building above is not a palace but one of the exhibition hall in the park.

Besides palaces, temples are a good venue to admire Thai Buddhist architecture.

Chedi

Chedi is visible tower in many large temples.

For the normal house, the main construction materials would be wood and bamboo.

In rural villages, simpler building materials like leaves are also common building materials.

All the photos taken in Chiang Mai trip was taken with a small Olympus PEN (E-PL1). It has some fun art filters. The following test shot was taken with ‘grainy filter’.
