National Horse Show 2011 – Part 1

This morning was my first time visiting the horse carnival in Malaysia. I split my impressions into few posts.

I reached the Sungai Besi Turf Club by 8:30am. What greeted me in the visitor car park was the left over from the Arthur’s Day party at the parking lot.

All visitors have to park at the designated area and take the free shuttle bus to the carnival venue. It is only 1 minute bus ride and the waiting time is less than 2 minutes. I was lucky to arrive early before the event started on 10am.

The stable was opened and the organizer has not yet put up the visitor barrier. Early visitors could interact with the horses with close proximity. I walked around the area to get a sense of the facilities.

Two hot air balloons were setting up at the race track but the balloons look unattractive (as compared to those at the Putrajaya Balloon Fiesta), and the ride costs RM20. Luckily the shows were free.

Visitors could find many information from the participating booths and items on display.

The crews and performing teams were all set for the VVIP. See part 2 for the arrival of the King (Yang di-Pertuan Agong).
