Kampung Morten @ Melaka

Melaka has many beautiful traditional Malay houses. Kampung Morten is one of the villages that is easy access from Melaka old town.

Kampung Morten is a living museum if you like to experience the way of traditional Malay village lifestyle. There are many newly furnished home stays for visitors to overnight.

The village is accessible by boat or by foot from Melaka old town.

The small village is surrounded by Melaka River in a sharp U-shape.

The best way to visit Kampung Morten is on foot.

There are few houses opened to welcome visitors.

The most prominent house should be Villa Sentosa.

Few houses next to Villa Sentosa are worth visiting. One can notice the unique staircase with porcelain tiles.

The houses at Kampung Morten may not be the most beautiful but definitely very high concentration of ‘opened house’ that welcoming visitors.
