Portuguese Grilled Fish @ Petaling Street

There are plenty of good food around Petaling Street area.

The stall opens from evening to night time. It is located at the main junction of the busy pedestrian walk in Petaling Street (Chinatown). It was hidden behind the famous Loh Han Kuo drink on the walk way.

We ordered the medium size fish (RM13). The cook prepared the fish and secret sauce wrapped with aluminium foil. He wrote and tagged the orders so that all the foils won’t mix up.

The outlet has a dedicated person grilling the seafood. Technically it is steam-grill because the fish was not grilled under direct flame.

The Portuguese sauce was a bit spicy and hot even for Malaysian’s taste. If you couldn’t take spicy food, be prepared for the heat.

Personally I prefer the dryer type of Portuguest grilled fish. I think stingray is still the best choice of fish. For this stall, my rating is 3 out of 5 stars.

My recommended list of ‘must try’ food in Petaling Street would be in the order as follow:

1) Charcoal stir fried Hok Kien Mee 金莲记炭炒福建面

2) Lo Han Kou with dragon eye drink 罗汉果龙眼冰

3) wanton mee 冠记云吞面

4) Beef noodle 新九如牛肉面

5) Portuguese grilled fish 葡式烧鱼
