During the harvesting season, the pottery square in Bhatakpur is occupied by rice and crops instead of pottery.
Luckily we were staying in Cosy Hotel, which share the same court yard with a family of pottery makers.
We got the opportunity to witness more pottery making activities away from the main square.
The family was very friendly and allowed us to take picture without asking for money like some of the ‘models’ posing for money to tourists coming to the main square.
We could take our time watching the various steps of producing different kinds of containers and vases.
Below was the Nepali version of clay piggy bank.
