Thaipusaam 2013 is coming to the end of the celebration.
Many of us thought that everything has returned to normal at Batu Caves, but there are devotees chose to fulfill their vow days after the main day. The objective is to avoid the peak traffic.
Ara informed that his family members and friends have another ceremony on Saturday.
So I am delighted to join the event.
The traffic towards Kuala Lumpur city center was at a crawl since this morning. Apparently there was a celebration of Pongal Festival and opening speech by the Prime Minister.
I was in time to witness the preparation and praying ceremony.
There was no kavadi on the day, and with minimal piercing activities.
Few families gathered together and helped the devotees going into the state of trance.
It was still fascinating to witness the emotion and transformation from normal to the state of trance.
Every devotee would get into the character, and started displaying the respective characteristics.
One of the devotee who taken on the character of the Monkey God Haruman, started search for fruits once he entered into trance.
They also demonstrated extraordinary strength and behaviour, but it was normal in respective of the characters of the god or goddess.
Family and friend would also received blessing from the devotees in trance, a form of good luck.
In the next posting, I would share with you their journey from the riverbank all the way up to the temple inside Batu Caves.
