Today is the 37th year that the largest Bon Odori Festival is held outside of Japan.
Bon Odori is celebrated at Shah Alam (Selangor), Penang, and Johor Bahru (Johor).
There will be fireworks display tonight to mark the 50th years establishment of the Japan Club Kuala Lumpur (JCKL).
We reached the Panasonic Stadium at Shah Alam after 6pm. The sun was setting.
Still in time for a quick bite at the food stalls and listening to the opening speech (presented in Bahasa Malaysia and English, bilingual).
The dances were similar to last years rituals, with a center stage and public participants joining in large circles.
It was good family picnic outing and evening exercise for many participants.
High heels are not allowed on the lawn. If you like to dance, remember to wear flat heel footwear.
This is not a cosplay event, so put your ultraman suit at home and wear yukata instead.
