Great place to escape from Dubai’s heat
There are more than 70+ shopping malls and arcades in Dubai alone. With The Dubai Mall crowned with the world largest mall make it a ‘must see’ tourist spot in Dubai.
Besides few other indoor attraction (fee based) such as Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, At the Top Burj Khalifa, Ice Rink etc, the music fountain showcase draw huge crowd every evening (because it is free and nice to watch).
Viewing from the restaurant balcony would be a good choice. Do take note that the music and performance varies every 30 minutes.
In a short transit trip to Dubai, it is not possible to visit all 70 malls, so I chosen The Dubai Mall, Mall of The Emirates and Madinat Jumeirah.
Out of the 3 malls, Madinat Jumeirah was my favorite with its vintage Arabian ambience.
Another reason to visit Madinat Jumeirah is that I could walk to Burj Al Arab 7 stars hotel.
If you like to see the luxury cars, just pay a visit to the valet parking area.
I only did windows shopping as most brands are similar (except they have the latest and also limited editions in Dubai) to retail shops in other major cities. I do not find the price to be cheaper than USA or Malaysia.
After walking at old town for a day, I appreciate the heavenly escape from the unbearable heat inside the air-conditioning malls.
Malaysia has 4 of the top 10 largest mall in the world, for the same reason as shopping is Malaysian national sports. The truth is that air-conditioning malls are great places to take a hot afternoon stroll.
