On the eve of the 58th Independence Day (Merdeka), Malaysians chosen to sleep on the street.
Simply because they love (Sayang) Kuala Lumpur. They love Malaysia.
They don’t seem to care about their style of sleep.
I did not adjust white balance, or purposely change the colour. The street light is yellowish in colour. The bright street light is not romantic or conducive to put people to sleep.
The Bersih 4.0 overnight takers called it “Hotel Jalan Tun Perak”, and their common feedback was the road is hot, not warm.
Some are bitten by ants and mosquitoes.
If you are not Malaysian, you may ask why would Malaysians choose to sleep on the street, besides the garbage?
Their answer is “We love Malaysia.”
Those who do not have baby sitter decided to bring the entire family along.
They know very well that this rally is for the future generation.
For us who slept on comfortable bed last night, we might not comprehend the determination of these Malaysian.
They choose the face the uncomfortable experience.
when your heart tells you this is the right thing to do but your conscious mind feel uncomfortable, that is the sign of growing change.
So we shall get into their mind and learn what is ‘wrong’ with their mind. What are they thinking?
Are they doing something stupid or me being selfish?
Why would we want the elder and young children sleep on the street for Bersih 5.0 or 10.0? Time to wake up.
Support a cause (clean election, say no to corruption, etc.) that you believe. Share with your fellow Malaysian.
so that Malaysian don’t have to always bring a yoga map to sleep on the street.
Merdeka.Merdeka. Merdeka. Wishing every Malaysian happy Independence Day.
