We made a impromptu stop over when we passed by Sam Poh Tong at Ipoh just now.

I could smell Chinese New Year round the corner

Kuala Lumpur city and many shopping malls are congested on the last shopping weekend before Chinese New Year (31 January 2014).

I dropped by Mid-Valley Mega Mall to pick up a new point-and-shoot camera. The shots in this post were taken with this tiny camera. It is fun to use the remaining power in the new battery and took a few snapshots.

The parking lot with few thousands parking bays were totally filled in 30 minutes. We decided to avoid the crowd and went to Petaling Street (also known as foreign workers street) to have lunch.

Thaipusam 2014 @ Batu Caves

Christmas just passed and we have celebrated New Year. Malaysia is ranked world #2 for having the most holidays. We have holiday to celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on 14th and today we have Thaipusam (17th January).

I made a short visit to Batu Caves this morning, and see if the crowd has increased. Batu Caves is crowded as usual.

No Deepavali Bazaar in Brickfields for 2013

If you are looking forward to visit Brickfield for its month long Deepavali (Diwali) Bazaar, you could be disappointed this year.

KL Municipal has relocated 400 stalls to Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman, near Masjid India.

Fire walk @ Nine Emperor Gods Festival 2013

Tonight is the 9th and the last day of 2013 Nine Emperor Gods Festival.

It has been 9 days after my last visit to the temple at Ampang.

The fire walking ritual started on 8pm and ended in 15 minutes.

Devotees were rushing in after the ceremony to bring home the ‘holy charcoal’.

We were attracted by the light and sound when we passed by George Town on our way to Pulau Tikus.

It was the mid-autumn festival street party. I really enjoyed the showcase of the moon cake competition.
