New name and new venue for Putrajaya floral festival 2015.
New admission fees of RM5 for Malaysian, and higher rate for foreigner. In return, visitors will be rewarded with 500,000 flora (100 species) and opportunity to exercise leg muscle.
The weather is so hot that both the visitors and the flora are dehydrated.
“Orchid – Tropical Treasure” is the theme of Floria 2013 at Putrajaya.
Today is the beginning of the 9 days flower and garden festival (22 to 30 June 2013).
My past experience tell me that the flowers may not last for 9 days.
The heat is on at Putrajaya.
With the wide publicity of the local media, more visitors are visiting Putrajaya.
Many people would expect the freshness of the flower may not last for 10 days.
The worry materialized on the second day.
In general, Floria 2012 is a good event, quite similar to the past events (this is the 5th year).
There are some merchants selling flowers and tourist items. Some artists are playing music, painting and even performing art.
Although the theme flower is Bougainvillea, orchid can be seen everywhere (as usual).
On the other hand, cactus is not a popular plant on display.
Today is the opening of the garden and flower show – the Putrajaya Floria 2012.
It is a 9-day event, with outdoor and indoor displays.
I was lucky because today’s weather forecast was raining and thunderstorm. The sky was giving all visitors a good break with an hour of blue sky, then turn back to overcast and started to rain. If you like to visit the same event, please come early. By 8:30am, most balloons already floated far far away …
