1,300KM round trip to East Coast
We made a short round trip from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bharu for the Qing-Ming Festival 清明 (Chinese Tomb Sweeping Day).
With respect of the ancestors, it may not be nice to take pictures of this colourful and smoky festival.
So, I rather showed you the original skeleton of the famous Perak Man. This is the oldest complete set of skeleton discovered in South East Asia. He lived more than 10,000 years ago. Note: Peking Man dated back to 300,000 years.
This skeleton has been relocated back to Lenggong Archaeological Museum in 2014 for Malaysia Tourism Year. Lenggong Valley has been crowned as the World Heritage Site.
Tropical Paradise = Pulau Redang
April to July is the best time to visit some of tropical islands on east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
Pulau Redang is one of the most popular islands, made famous by the Chinese Movie 《夏日的麽麽茶》. The replica of the movie set is now a grocery store.
Tourists are drawn to Pulau Redang for its crystal clear turquoise colour water.
Redang Island Marine Park Malaysia
The most common word exclaimed by first time visitors to Pulau Redang (Redang Island) has to be “paradise”.
How clear is the water? See it for yourself.
You may not believe that I saw these coral fish in waist deep water.
Still don’t believe, let’s see it from the bird eye view.
East Coast (Peninsular Malaysia)
This is our annual weekend trip to Kota Bharu.
We tried our best to squeeze out an hour for a detour to Pantai Cahaya Bulan (Moonlight Beach), about 30 minutes from town center.
The objective is to visit a hidden gem near PCB, the Pasir Belanda Resort. It is a local village (‘kampung’) style small resort inside the local village. This resort is very popular among the European tourists.
Rantau Abang and the coastal road
We took the coastal road back to Kuala Lumpur from East Coast (just now). The sky was gloomy and raining. Yesterday was slightly better with a bit of blue sky when we started the journey from Penarik.
Crystal Mosque @ Pulau Wan Man
If you drive through the bridge (across Pulau Duyung) at Kuala Terengganu, you could be attracted by a reflective mosque blinking under sunshine.
Sunrise @ Pulau Duyung
I love the sunrise at Pulau Duyung. We woke up this morning at Ri-Yaz Heritage Resort, and took a few snapshots before heading for our breakfast.
